With twenty-two official languages, India is a growing hub for language industry professionals and companies. Localization eco-system in the country is beginning to evolve. TDIL Programme of MeitY, Govt. of India is engaged in developing standards, technologies and has association with international institutions for supporting Indian Languages on the ICT Platform and is also focusing on the growth of eco-system in India for which we are regularly working with our national institutions’ bodies like MAIT, NASSCOM etc and with international institutions’ bodies like ELRA, LISA, GALA etc.

TDIL’s objective is to bring people from the localization community together in India and wants to reach out to as many individuals, LSPs, customers, academicians, researchers, startups, MSME, Domestic ILT industries willing to roll out India specific software products and other potential stakeholders. Hence, a group “Localization Industries of India” seeks to support and grow the community of language industry professionals and companies based in India and working with Indian languages for achieving above objectives. This forum is open to all. I encourage you to invite as many colleagues, customers or any other person related to this industry to participate.

This is a great opportunity to bring Academicians, Industry, Researchers, Language Technology experts and any other stakeholders on this forum for taking up the common cause of exploring the potential of localization industry in India. It is an effort to evangelize “Localization Industry Association” as an entity through collaborative efforts.
